Education:

1964 - Honour BA in Eglish Language and Literature, University of Toronto
1966 - M.A. English Literature, McGill University as a Woodrow Wilson Fellow

Professional experience:

1966 -1990: teaching Literature and composition at Concordia University and several Montreal Cegeps

1966 - present: book reviewing, seminars in critical reading at various cultural institutions

1983-2008: editor of FIRST FRUITS, an anthology of creative writing by Montreal and area high school students

2003 - present: weekly columnist for National Post newspaper

Awards



2009 - Award for Promoting Gender Issues in the Media, given by The National Coalition of Men (Sacramento, Calif)

2009 - Le prix Jean-Charles Harvey, given by the men's rights group "L'Après-Rupture" (Montreal)  for December 8, 2009 column, "End the moral pogrom against Canadian Men" (on the 20th anniversary of the Montreal Massacre)
